What is Patch testing

Patch testing is a simple effective way to figure out how your skin will react to a new cosmetic. It is extremely important to perform one before we start using a new cosmetic product as everyone reacts differently to products. It will allow you to identify a possible allergy that you might not be aware you were affected by. By performing a patch test, you’ll insure that a specific product is safe to use on your skin.

How to perform a patch test

  1. Choose an area of your skin that you can comfortably avoid for 24 hours.

  2. For body care products the forearm or elbow and for face care products under the ear are recommended

  3. Make sure the area is clean. Using a mild soap and water is good way to do so

  4. Apply a small amount of product on that area and cover with a band-aid

  5. After 24h remove the band-aid and observe

If dont notice any changes on your skin, the product is safe to use for you. If you experience some irritation or extreme redness rinse immediately and do not use

the product.

You might experience slight redness due to the band-aid but it should fade rather quickly. If it does not fade, it means you could have an allergy to the product. It is always best to consult a professional to get yourself treated and identify your allergies
